My commitment to you …
Excellent health is more than feeling good –
it’s the foundation for your life’s purpose.
After almost 20 years of marketing for others and my own business, “Thoughtful Content,”… and over 20 years of passionately pursuing healthy, heartfelt living, I’ve become a certified holistic health & lifestyle counselor – to help you uncover your best life.
“Health is a vehicle, not a destination.”
- Joshua Rosenthal, Founder, Institute for Integrative Nutrition
When you’re eating foods that nourish you and are engaged in activities, work and relationships that bring out your best self, everyone benefits. The world needs your unique gifts!!
My philosophy…
“Optimism isn’t about denying reality, it’s about creating a better one.”
Having a health counselor can help you find the tools that connect with you, because that toolbox is different for everyone - kale, quinoa and yoga might not do it for you (and that’s ok!)
My training …
I’ve always been passionate about learning all I can to become healthier and happier. I’ve had the energy, confidence and faith to navigate uncertainty, make tough decisions, change careers, cultivate lasting, incredible relationships, eat healthier - and most importantly, stop taking myself so seriously and have more fun!
I’ve had the honor of learning from the best yoga and meditation teachers in the world - Tim Miller, Diana Christinson, Lisa Shrempp, David Swenson, Rodney Yee, Shiva Rea, Sean Corne, Baron Baptiste, Thich Nat Han and Lama Surya Das. I’ve even had the privilege of attending three Dalai Lama presentations.
In 2008, I traveled to Mysore, India to study yoga at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute with Sri K. Pattahbi Jois and his grandson, Sharath Ranganswami. There, I also studied Yoga Sutra philosophy and transcendental meditation with Sir Narasimha. I’ve completed Baron Baptiste’s Level One Teacher Training and am a 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance.
While yoga and meditation have helped me become more in tune with what makes me feel healthier and happier, I realized that I also needed to understand more about the food that I eat - I still craved sugar, ate when anxious and had digestive problems.
In 2010, I enrolled in the world’s largest nutrition school, Institute for Integrative Nutrition to learn about the science behind nutrition. There, the world’s leading experts in disease prevention, health, wellness and nutrition have helped me better understand why we’re so confused about what to eat and why we’re so unhealthy in America today.
My passion for creating better lives ignited while working in the home building industry as a PR/ Marketing professional where I created the concept for and published two books about sustainable design: Streetscapes, Creating Better Places to Live and The Value of Design and it’s effect on our lives & communities with designer, Marianne Cusato.
Whether you’re designing a home, neighborhood or your own life, good design begins from the heart. It’s an expression of who you are, what’s important to you and inspires you. I’m lucky enough to still be writing about design at the Design Everyday blog for the Australian online magazine, Light Home.
