I think the list making certainly ties in. and I like the making things magically appear aspect to waitressing. I do remember wondering what all was in those aprons some wore, they seemed to unearth all sorts of random objects. Later, in High School, I, too, learned to keep straws on me at all times, and somehow knew how to ask after the customer while their mouth was full. nice.
